Our approach is grounded in a biblical worldview and emphasizes human responsibility, transparency, protection of user data, respect for intellectual property, and sound educational practices.

Yes. BJU Press uses AI in limited ways to support our work, including research, brainstorming, text analysis, grammar checks, data analysis, and workflow efficiency.

AI is used as an assistant—not as a replacement for our authors, editors, or subject matter experts. All AI-assisted work receives human review.

No. BJU Press does not use AI to author copyrighted curriculum content, textbooks, assessments, or instructional materials. These materials are written, reviewed, and approved by qualified human authors, editors, and subject matter experts.

No. BJU Press does not use AI to make instructional decisions. Human educators and subject matter experts remain responsible for educational decisions.

We encourage educators to use authorized BJU Press and partner solutions designed to provide safe, secure, and copyright-conscious AI experiences. We are committed to helping schools use AI responsibly while respecting intellectual property and creator rights.

BJU Press is developing materials that help students understand AI, use it appropriately, recognize its limitations, and consider its use from a biblical worldview.

Yes. BJU Press is incorporating AI-related instruction into appropriate materials. This includes digital citizenship lessons and additional strategies and recommendations in student and teacher materials.

Topics include AI basics, appropriate AI use, prompting, AI as a study tool, recognizing AI-generated errors, and the benefits and consequences of ethical AI use.

BJU Press supports reducing unnecessary screen time while recognizing that appropriate technology can provide valuable learning experiences.

Our focus is on quality and purpose, not simply the number of minutes a student spends on a device. Technology can help students develop digital skills and learn to use technology in a responsible, God-honoring way.

BJU Press offers Trove Inspire and also partners with TrekAI, an AI platform for teachers and students. TrekAI is designed around a biblical worldview and uses a Socratic approach to guide students toward learning rather than simply providing answers. BJU Press materials are indexed in TrekAI for users who choose to use those materials within the platform.

BJU Press offers AI-related resources and professional development opportunities, including BJU Press Teacher Edition Podcast episodes focused on AI. Additional AI-focused lessons and resources are also being developed.

Trove is completely web-based, meaning it can be accessed via web browser on any device with internet connection. In addition, offline learning capabilities are available through our apps.

Yes, Trove is 1EdTech certified (LTI v1.3) and offers integrations via OneRoster (CSV, API, or SFTP), streamlining the delivery of class rostering in an easy and secure way. Trove is integrated with Google Classroom, allowing teachers and students to access Trove through Single Sign-On and making it very convenient for students to interact with digital content all in one place.

By purchasing any digital product for students (such as eTextbooks, eWorkbooks, or eAssessments), schools provide those students access to the Trove student portal, including that e-book, a content library, digital assessments, notifications, and a calendar.

Yes! Teachers can create their own custom assessments from scratch using the Trove assessment builder, including a variety of question types and autogradability features. In addition, teachers can modify publisher-created assessments or use Trove test banks (select grades and subjects) to build their own custom assessments.

Yes! In addition to digital distribution options, assessments in Trove can be exported as RTF (Word) or PDF files and then printed.

Yes! All grades from digital assessments in Trove can be exported as XLS or CSV files and then imported into your school’s gradebook program.

Trove Inspire is a collection of simple, AI-powered tools built into Trove. These tools are designed to help teachers and students learn more effectively using BJU Press content.

Teachers can use Trove Inspire to create flashcards, review questions, and project-based learning activities. Student tools are designed to guide students as they learn and review.

The Trove Tutor Chat is designed to guide students toward understanding rather than simply giving them answers.

Yes. Trove Inspire tools generate results directly from BJU Press content. The tools are designed to work within the secure Trove environment and complement the BJU Press materials schools already use.

Trove Inspire tools are included by default in teacher and student Trove accounts.

Yes. A Trove administrator can submit an opt-out form to exclude specific Trove Inspire tools from teacher or student accounts associated with the school.

Tools can also be reactivated later by submitting a written request from the Trove administrator to Trove Support.

No. Trove Inspire is designed to support teachers, not replace them. It provides tools that can help teachers save time, create learning activities, and personalize instruction while the teacher remains at the center of the learning experience.

The student AI tools are designed to be Socratic, meaning they guide students toward understanding rather than simply providing answers.

Yes. Student chats in Trove Tutor Chat are visible to the associated teacher. This provides accountability and can give teachers additional insight into student learning and questions.

For certain sensitive topics, Trove Tutor Chat directs the student to talk with a trusted adult. Examples listed in the BJU Press guidelines include death, hate, self-harm, and human reproduction.

Trove Inspire was designed to provide a focused AI experience that works directly with BJU Press materials in the secure Trove environment. This allows teachers and students to use AI tools while keeping the experience connected to the curriculum and BJU Press content.

BJU Press Trove eTextbooks are electronic versions of the printed student textbooks. They are for individual student use and must be purchased per student. Trove eTextbooks are available for teacher use with a Trove subscription, included in the Resource Library (Teacher eTextbooks cannot be shared).

Trove eTextbooks are orderable only through qualified BJU Press school accounts and cannot be purchased on a homeschool account or through an outside distributor. A Trove annual site license is also required.

You can purchase your Trove eTextbooks through our website in the Textbooks tab or bulk order forms or by contacting Customer Service or your Territory Manager. A Trove annual site license is required for rostering, distribution, and management of eTextbooks. Purchase your Trove Site License on our website.

Trove eTextbooks are available for K5 Math and all grade 1–12 courses. Interactive digital versions of Student Editions, Worktexts, Activities, Reviews, and Lab Manuals are available.

Trove eTextbooks will show up in the Trove admin account within 1 hour of purchase.

Trove eTextbooks can be accessed on up to 5 devices either through the Trove web version on any device with internet access or through a Trove app (iOS, Android, or desktop).

Effective for purchases beginning February 1, 2026, Trove digital assets will no longer expire and may be carried forward to future years if unused. All digital products purchased prior to February 1, 2026, will continue to expire after fifteen (15) months.

The files are approximately 300 MB each. 

Digital assets may be assigned and reassigned an unlimited number of times within sixty (60) days of their initial distribution to a student. After the sixty-day period, assets may be unassigned but may not be reassigned to another student.
